It's been a while since I have posted. Christmas has come and gone, we have had a relaxing holiday at home, IM is back at work and we are half way through the kid's summer holidays.
Although I have not been writing here, I have still been writing and keeping busy building up content for my TriCrew website - so check it out and subscribe to TriCrew also as I will be adding some new pages soon reporting on Hawaii, China and Busselton (WA) Ironman Events.
A new year is a time for all of us to reflect on the year that has past, and make plans and set goals for the year ahead. I have been in a de-clutter, re-organise and plan mode and it certainly helps me to assess where I am at and where I want to be - start the year refreshed and dreaming big! My latest post on TriCrew I wrote for triathletes discussing the topic of reflection and giving thanks. If you haven't read it yet, click here!
So what is happening in triathlon for our family in 2011?
Training is always happening - in fact I have not trained this much before with my new years goal being my first marathon with IM joining me! Watch this space on how I manage....
Shorter races are the focus this year for IM, although China Ironman dates have recently been announced - will IM return? Think he will be on his own if he does! Most Ironman races are sold out a year in advance so unless you plan way ahead you just have to wait. Only one locked in for us is NZ 2012.
In the meantime, there is our local club races, the Huskisson Long Course, the NSW Club Champs, the ITU World Championships in Sydney (first time for age groupers - very exciting!), the Busselton 70.3 and hopefully Noosa Tri Festival which I have been wanting to return to for years!
The first thing I did this year was buy myself a smart yearly wall planner form Kikki-k stationary shop (I am obsessed with their stuff at the moment - so stylish and great ideas to help organise the home!) and started to map out what races when (as well as other family plans for the year) so I could look at the big picture - makes me feel organised even if it all changes over time.
What triathlons are your family heading to this year? I would love to hear.
In signing off, I just want to say thank you to my followers, my friends and my family (especially my Ironman) for all the support and encouragement you have shown in my new endeavour of writing about our triathlon lifestyle, designing my TriCrew supporter tees and my dream of TriCrew being a hub of information for triathlon supporters around the world - who knows where it will take me in 2011!
Wishing you and your triathletes a safe & healthy year, and happy times together xx
